Sustainablity

Why Fabric Choice Matters: The Foundation of Sustainable Style at Blue Water Clothing

At Blue Water Clothing, we believe fashion should feel good in every sense—from how it looks and fits, to how it’s made and where it ends up. That’s why we’re deeply committed to choosing fabrics that are both beautiful and responsible. The materials found in our collections aren’t just part of the design—they are the design, and they help shape a better future for people and planet alike.

We prioritise quality, sustainability, and traceability—because a longer lifecycle starts with a smarter choice of fabric.

Better Fabrics, Better Fashion

The collections you’ll find at Blue Water Clothing are sourced with intention. From breathable viscose to organic cotton and recycled polyester, our collections blend comfort, performance, and conscious living. Here’s how our most-used fabrics are making a difference:

LENZING™ ECOVERO™ Viscose: Light, Luxurious, and Low-Impact

Viscose is known for its silky drape, breathable softness, and versatility—making it a wardrobe staple for effortless dresses, floaty tops, and layer-ready tunics. But not all viscose is created equal.

We use LENZING™ ECOVERO™—a more sustainable version made from wood pulp sourced from FSC- and PEFC-certified forests.

  • Uses up to 50% less water and CO₂ than traditional viscose

  • EU Ecolabel certified for environmental excellence

  • Traced from forest to final garment for full transparency

Organic Cotton: Soft on Skin, Gentle on the Earth

Loved for its natural breathability and everyday durability, cotton is a timeless choice. But conventional cotton can be one of fashion’s thirstiest and most pesticide-reliant crops.

That’s why we favour organic cotton—grown without toxic chemicals or genetically modified organisms (GMOs), and with a strong focus on soil health and biodiversity.

  • GOTS and OCS certified

  • Long-lasting and easy to care for

  • Kinder to sensitive skin

Recycled Polyester: Turning Waste Into Wearable Style

Polyester is prized for its strength, stretch, and ease of care—but virgin polyester is made from crude oil and contributes to pollution and plastic waste. We’re actively shifting towards recycled polyester, made from plastic bottles, fabric scraps, and old garments.

  • Reduces landfill and carbon emissions

  • Performs like traditional polyester—lightweight, wrinkle-resistant, and long-lasting

  • Helps create a circular fashion model

A Commitment to Continuous Improvement

We know that sustainable fashion is a journey, not a destination. That’s why we continuously evaluate our materials and supply chains, measuring our CO₂ impact and setting clear goals to reduce it.

Our aim is to minimise our environmental footprint—without ever compromising on quality, comfort, or design.

We also choose suppliers and partners who align with international standards and ethical practices—ensuring that our garments support fair working conditions, transparency, and long-term change.

Sustainable Style That Reflects Your Values

Whether you're walking along the coast, pottering in the garden, or hosting at home, we want you to feel confident in clothing that reflects your lifestyle and your values.

At Blue Water Clothing, sustainability isn’t just a trend—it’s the thread that connects everything we do.
